Corporate purpose
1.The objectives of the Association shall be: a)To independently carry out basic, industrial research and experimental development in the field of information and communication technologies and their applications, and to disseminate the results of these activities through all available forms, including technology transfer. b) to build, develop and operate the CESNET research infrastructure on a long-term basis and to support the development, adoption and use of cutting-edge communication and information technologies; c) to support, by covering the costs associated with it, the dissemination of education, culture and knowledge, the cooperation of members with practice, the expansion of applications of state-of-the-art information technologies and the improvement of the CESNET research infrastructure by acquiring additional participants, information sources and services. 2. The main activities of the Association shall include, in particular: (a)to carry out independent research and development activities in the field of information and communication technologies and to provide research services in this field; (b)promote ICT training; c) put the results of its own research and development into practice in the form of technology transfer of an internal nature; d) to carry out the following activities for the benefit of its members, the organisations established by them, as well as for the benefit of other entities: i.development and operation of the national communication and information infrastructure, enabling the interconnection of their infrastructures, access to the CESNET infrastructure and connection to similar external infrastructures (including access to the Internet), ii.creation of commonly used technical, communication and software means and information services, iii.verification of new applications, cooperation and complementarity of members' activities at a level comparable to leading foreign academic and research infrastructures. The subject of its activities is carried out and ensured by the association to the extent of the subsidies obtained and partial reimbursement of costs associated with these activities. The association does not carry out these activities for profit.
